Eastern, range of rainfall from 800 - 1500 mm, altitude from 1,200 - 1,340 M, generally flat with undulating hills, moderate to good soils
Karamoja Wet Zone
North eastern, mostly bordering Acholi, Teso, Kapchorwa & Lango sub regions, more reliable rainfall received, average rainfall of 1,100 mm, altitude at 970 - 1,420 M, soils moderately good
Lake Albert Crescent
In the west, areas around L.Albert to the east and south, variable rainfall from 800 - 1,400 mm, altitude ranges from 620 - 1,585 M, generally flat with undulating hills. Soils are good to moderate
Lake Victoria Crescent
Covering the central area in the county around L.Victoria. Average rainfall of 1,200-1,450 mm, altitude ranges from 1,000-1,800 M, hilly and flat areas, some with wetlands and forest. Soils good to moderate
Northern Farming System
Northern, generally flat with isolated hills, average rainfall of 1200 mm, altitude from 975 - 1,520 M, fairly heavy fertile soils
South Western Highlands
South west; mountanious areas of Mt. Muhavura. Rainfall over 1400 mm, altitude of 1,300 - 3,960 M with mostly volcanic rich soils
West Nile Farming System
North western, generally flat with undulating hills, average rainfall range of 1340 - 1370 mm, altitude from 350 - 1,340 M, moderate to goodsoils
Western Range Lands
Mid western Uganda, average rainfall of 915 - 1020 mm, altitude ranges from 600 - 1,524 M, rolling hills with some flat areas, soils are moderate to poor
