Intermediaries between the plain and the western part of the high altitiudes region. Altitude: 1000-1750 m, land with steep slopes and valleys strongly collected under fome of V. Traversnés of many rivers originating from the ridge and flowing into Lake Tanganyika. Soils: ferrisols, hygroxéroferrasols, lithosols, bedrock hygroxéferrisols quartzite fertile black earth. Rainfall: 1400-1600 mm / year Temperature: 20-25 ° C. 3-4 months of dry season (July-September).
Plain Imbo
Located north-south-west. Elevation: 750-1000 m, vegetation dominated by savannas heurbeuses, gently undulating terrain. Crossed by many rivers originating from the ridge and flowing into Lake Tanganyika part of the Congo River basin. Soil mixtures vertisols of régogley, of hygroxéroferrisols and fertile hygroferralsols black-brown earth. Rainfall: 500 -1000 mm / year. Temperature: 20-30 ° C / year. 4 to 5 months of dry season (June-September).
