Sahelian Zone
tThe Sahel region occupies 43% of the country with an average annual rainfall of between 200 and 700 mm.La dry season lasts 8 to 9 months. The rainy season is short (July to September). This area is between 11 and 15 ° of latititude North and between 12 and 24 ° of longitude.
Sudanian Zone
Spread over about 10% of the country, this area is between 9 and 11 ° north latitude and between 15 and 21 ° east longitude. The wet season is long, 3 to 6 months and dry season is short. It starts from mid April to mid October. Rainfall varies from 800 to 1200mm per year.
