Watermelon

It is the northernmost continental and maritime natural region in the country. It is located in the northern part of Colombia. It limits to the north with the Caribbean Sea, to which it owes its name, to the East with Venezuela, to the south with the Andean region and to the West with the Pacific region. The departments that make up this Region are Atántico, Bolívar, César, Córdoba, La Guajira, Magdalena and Sucre. It has an average altitude of 300 meters above sea level, with a maximum of 5,775 aslm a a minimum of 0 aslm. It has tropical (savannah and monsoonal), dry (arid and semi-arid, only in Guajira and Cesar) and temperate mountain (only on the summits of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta) climates. The Orinoquía, also known as Llanos Orientales, is located in the east of the country, bordering Venezuela to the north and east, Amazonia to the south, and the Andean region to the west. The departments that are located in this Region are Cauca, Chocó, Nariño and Valle Del Cauca. Its maximum, minimum and average altitudes are 1600 a.s.l.m.
